CD Launch ‘The Last Resort’ on January 22nd!
The Last Resort
The Last Resort - A collection of original songs by Michael Elgo is due to be released on January 22nd, 2009, at the Ship Inn. “This is a pilgrim of a record seeking ground from the length of the country and in between, and back,” according to Michael Elgo, “delivering a parcel of songs 5000 kilometers to the violin and mandolin work of Patrick McGonnigle ( British Columbia), then finding guitar picking, bass, and harmonica by Tim Buckley, Jr. (Alberta), piano by Dylan Jervis (Ontario), and trombone and melodica by Jeff Morrow (Quebec). It comes back weary and is wonderfully cured, I might add, by the backup vocals of Sherry Ryan (Newfoundland).”
Fellow musicians James Parsons and Steve Pike are joining Michael onstage for the evening as the musical trio ‘What Odds’. Michael will also be joined by special guests Justin Merdsoy and Sherry Ryan.
The show begins at 9:30 PM and there is a $5.00 cover charge on the door.
